I'm Bassam Ismail, and I go by skippednote across the internet. I'm a Director of Engineering at Axelerant, where I focus on engineering and product development. Before that I worked at Clipboard Health, Acquia, and Pixoto.

I spent most of my career solving problems on the frontend and now work across the stack — lately mostly infrastructure and distributed systems. I like to understand the tools I depend on rather than just use them, so I keep a home server and a handful of small services of my own.

Away from a computer I'm usually on a bike, chasing the local food scene in Kashmir, or buried in a book. No tracking here, no newsletter pop-ups — just the work.
